Housing Finance Foundation signs technical skills development partnership with Vision 2030 Delivery Board

February 22nd 2013 Housing Finance Foundation has signed a strategic collaboration with Vision 2030 Delivery Board (VDB) to facilitate creation of an Army of 1 Million Artisans by 2016.
Under the agreement, Housing Finance Foundation will directly work with relevant Ministries, Department and Agencies charged with implementing Vision 2030 flagship projects.

Housing Finance posts Kshs 907 million full year profit

20th February 2013 … Leading mortgage financier, Housing Finance, has posted a profit before tax of Kshs 907 million for the year ending 2012.
This was a 7 percent drop from Kshs 975 million, which it posted in 2011. Profit after tax however increased to Kshs 743 million up from Kshs 622 million the previous year. This increase in after tax profit was attributed to a lower tax expense in 2012.

Housing Finance invest Kshs 186 million in joint venture

February 18, 2013 … Leading mortgage financier, Housing Finance, will invest Kshs 186 million in its first joint venture housing project.
The firm has partnered with a land owner in Riruta to construct 328 flats comprising a mix of one, two and three bedrooms.
Speaking during the ground breaking of Precious Gardens, Housing Finance, Managing Director, Mr. Frank Ireri said joint ventures will enable the firm raise its involvement in the supply of middle to lower income housing.

Housing Finance Foundation launches campaign to train 1 million artisans

Highlights:
• ‘Army of 1 million artisans flagship project,’ will focus on upgrading the skills.
• Housing Finance becomes the first private firm to spearhead a Vision 2030 flagship project through its newly formed Housing Finance Foundation.
• Technical and vocational Education and Training Bill, 2012 to shift TVET from time-bound, curriculum-based training to flexible and competency-based training.

IFC Provides Funding to Housing Finance Company of Kenya to Spur Green Housing Market

Nairobi, Kenya, February 5, 2013—IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, today announced an investment in the Housing Finance Company of Kenya to help the mortgage lender increase access to housing finance and pioneer the market for environmentally friendly housing in the country.
